Naked farmers in Iceland
A group of farmers in the Hörgárdalur valley in Northern Iceland, close to Akureyri have teamed up to form an Icelandic version of The Full Monty. They say that difficulties in sustaining themselves with farming has led them to this side career of stripping.
The director, Jón Gunnar, says the farmers are confident men and they go all the way. The farmers initially contacted him and asked if he could set up a play for them in which they could strip. When asked if the show would be banned for younger audiences Jón Gunnar says there would be no need for that as there is nothing dirty in it. However it might be most appropriate for groups of female friends or workmates.
If you are travelling around Northern Iceland next summer you might be able to buy a calendar at gas stations featuring the scantily clad farmers.
